Melrose Park, IL-based Alberto-Culver Company’s Beauty Systems Group (BSG) has completed the acquisition of CosmoProf, a full service professional beauty products distributor based in Chatsworth, CA.“CosmoProf is an important addition to Beauty Systems Group, giving us new geography in the very important Los Angeles, California market, as well as Hawaii,” commented Howard B. Bernick, Alberto-Culver’s president and chief executive officer. In addition, the acquisition provides ” more stores and salespeople that will strengthen BSG’s existing positions in California, Oregon, Idaho, Washington, Utah, Nevada and Arizona.” The addition of CosmoProf’s 93 stores and 135 salespeople will bring Beauty Systems Group to more than 700 stores and 1,300 professional sales consultants, according to Alberto-Culver executives.
